Story

Very sadly, my mum has been living with Alzheimer's disease for a number of years. It's an incredibly cruel illness that slowly strips away the person you once were and leaves you in a position of complete dependence on others for everything. Witnessing the devastating impact the condition has had on my mum has been heart-breaking for my family - we've slowly adjusted to accept that the mum, wife, nanny, and sister that we knew is no longer there.

I am running the London Marathon for my mum and for Alzheimer’s Research UK - they specialise in funding world-class, pioneering research to help find preventions, treatments and a cure for dementia.

I'm finding the training pretty tough going - sore shins, sore knees, sore hamstrings, sore nipples - and I'm sure the marathon itself will be a painful and gruelling challenge. Any support that you can give will be hugely appreciated and help to inspire me when my legs have had enough, and help towards a cure for this horrible disease.

Thank you

The first 20 miles were ok. The last 6 were horrible. But I finished it and staggered over the line in 4.19. A huge thank you for your generosity and support. It made a big difference when it started to get tough and means a lot to me and my family. Thank you x
